37 Weeks: The Official Home Stretch

We made it! No worries about a pre-term baby boy here! It is unreal to say we are only 3 weeks or less away from meeting him & our lives being changed forever. We could not be more excited! I would like to say that I'll post again before he's born but we'll let him decide that! :)

So what's new?

Symptoms: He's "dropped" so pressure & all those fun pre-labor feelings
Cravings: Anything sweet & Dr. Pepper
Sleep: Not any better. Now up to 7 pillows! Yes, David is still in bed with me :)

                                     34 weeks!                                                     36 weeks!

On August 25th, we had a wonderful shower from our Journey family! It was all sports themed topped off with a Carolina jersey cake with Mosteller on the back. We were blessed with many baby essentials including our car seat. Another bonus was getting Little David's bedding that matches his nursery!

Ever since the shower, we have been finalizing the nursery. My plan is to get the final touches this week so I can show it off before he comes! I really want to show the whole process from start to finish so I need to make finishing it my goal this week!

At the beginning of September, we had our maternity pictures done by the AMAZING Sydney Brant! It was so much fun to show off the belly & have some great pictures taken of David and me. All the pics are on mine and David's Facebook pages but here are a few of our favorites!

Lately, I have been getting asked a lot of the same questions. So here are the answers to some FAQ for the Mostellers. Of course, I don't mind answering these any time!

What are y'all going to call him?
Most likely it will be David. That's what we call him now. When we need to, we'll say Lil David. The only initials I approve of is "LD" but I even wence a little at that one. Just no "DJ" please! We aren't in the 1990s! It's normal on David's side of the family to have multiple people with the same name.

When are you stopping work?
I plan to work until Little David gives me the signal he's on his way! I don't want to waste a single day sitting at home without him!

How long will you be out of work?
Hopefully, I will be out until mid December. That's about 8 weeks. David will take off about a week when LD is born so that will be wonderful family time together! :)

My long term sub has been selected and I "think" my kiddos are as ready as they can be for me to just not show up one day! Honestly...I'm not worried about them at all. They will have a great teacher & I can't wait to spend time with my sweet husband and new baby boy!

Where are you delivering?
St. Francis in West Ashley

I just have to say that this journey being pregnant has been so rewarding. I have been very lucky to have such a healthy pregnancy and an ejoyable one! David and I have enjoyed every minute preparing for his arrival. Little David is still moving around just as much as he always has so that tells us we might have an active little boy on our hands. We are so ready and are so thankful for God blessing us with this experience!

Well, I plan for my next post to be all about his nursery. Whether it's before he comes or not...well God only knows! Prayers are always appreciated for a healthy and uncomplicated delievery.

Until next time...God Bless!
We love y'all!

32 Weeks: Let the Countdown Begin!

Can you believe it? We are 8 weeks or less away from meeting our sweet baby boy! We are SOOO excited and time is passing so fast. As time ticks away, we are busy preparing for him by finishing the nursery & making sure Little David has everything he needs. :)

So what's new?

Symptoms: Just plain TIRED! Most of that due to starting back to school though!
Cravings: Milkshakes...YUM!
Aversions: none...I'll eat anything when I'm hungry!
Sleep: David says I build my "pillow castle" before I go to sleep. I wake up a lot and getting up early isn't that bad. I believe this is God's way of prepping me for Mommy-hood!

32 weeks - 8 months!

Little David is growing perfectly. He is head down so no wonder the movement is strongest in the ribs! Sometimes, he shifts to where my whole belly will move from one side to the other. I love to feel him move around. It's the best feeling because it reminds you there is a little person in there! He also gets the hiccups ALL the time! That's a sweet feeling too! David and I enjoy listening to him move around through David's stethescope. We just can't wait to meet him! Pretty soon we'll be going to the doctor every week. My sweet husband hasn't missed one yet either. He's going to be such a great dad!

We had our Charleston family shower on August 11th! It was here at our house which was great b/c we didn't have to carry stuff home in the car! We got Little David's crib, along with many other great things, so his room is well underway! We are very thankful for our family & friends who came. It was a great turnout and we felt very loved! The details, decorations, and help from the family is truly a blessing to us!

Cake made by Grandma!

Big toy for baby David!

Bottles galore!

Excited about these bottles! Drop in liners...yay!

It's his crib!

Excited Mommy & Daddy to be!

We have a shower this weekend by our Journey friends so we are super excited to see what else he gets! We got one present from our Journey shower early. Ms. Cindy Belcher made us a Gamecock diaper cake! I mean....what else would you give a Mosteller baby?!?

Gamecock Baby already!

After this weekend's shower, we are going to finish the nursery!! It's been a work in progress for a while so expect a whole post on it....from start to finish! :) Until then...let's hope Little David continues to bake for a while longer. I'm sure he will but you never know! Prayers for a healthy boy & uncomplicated delivery are greatly appreciated!

Love y'all & God Bless!

30 Weeks: Nursery, Showers, & Growing...OH MY!

So 4 weeks later, I have finally had time to update our blog! Last time, I was saying summer needed to slow down but it didn't listen! That's ok...we are only 10 weeks (or less) from meeting our handsome baby boy! So much has been happening. He's growing perfectly, we finished painting the nursery, & we have 3 showers in August!

So what's new?

Symptoms: a little swelling and holy backache! Thank the Lord for my chiropractor!
Cravings: My sweet tooth is back & Dr. Pepper as usual
Aversions: none
Sleep: Geeze...let's not talk about it! Ugh! It's worth it though. :)

30 weeks :)
I'm going to the doctor every 2 weeks now. We saw one of the other doctors in the practice the other day and she said his head is down so that's great news! He's moving me around now...so much so that you can see him from the outside. It's the coolest feeling ever!I think he's going to be a tall little man because I feel him way up high and way down low so we're guessing over 20". Hmm..I wonder who he'll take after? So now we are counting down and before we know it, David Jr will be here. What are we most excited about? Tough to say, but David and I can't wait to just see what he looks like!

Last weekend, August 4th, we had our first baby shower in Belton from David's family. We are very blessed to have a wonderful family & we felt nothing but loved! We got David Jr's potential going home outfit! But...we are going to have a backup in case he is too little for it. We'll wait to reveal when he actually gets to wear it! Leslie made the cutest diaper cake filled with goodies appropriate for a Mosteller. David Jr. will be matching us in our Carolina gear this football season! So what comes with a shower? Thank you notes! I'm happy to say that I am up to date and ready for our next shower this weekend!

"Booty" cake! Yummy!

Butt paste...haha!

Sweet blanket from Aunt Joyce!

Diaper Cake for a Carolina Baby!
This week we got David Jr's nursery completed! Well, the painting anyway. We are waiting on the pieces to fill it and decorate it! I will post pictures as soon as it's completely done. All I can say is it's ADORABLE! David had worked so hard and I'm so thankful for his attention to detail. It has been fun to do it together & we can't wait to see little man in it!

School starts for me next week! I can actually say that I feel good about my classroom and when it's time, I'll be ready to get going. I'm not sure how my back and feet feel about this though. We'll see! All I can say is my chair will be my friend while at work then the couch and bed at night! I'm planning on working until David Jr arrives then I'll be out until the beginning of January. We are so excited for me to be out for that length of time and thankful that God is providing for us!

Well, we have another shower this weekend which we are super excited about! I will do better and not wait another 4 weeks to update. Hang on tight because the next 10 weeks is going to fly by! :)

Love to everyone & God Bless!

26 Weeks: Slow Down Summer!

July already? And 3 months until Lil' David is here? Oh boy....summer needs to slow down. Don't get me wrong....we are SUPER excited for his arrival but we have a lot to do still!

But updates first...

Symptoms: NO MORE HEARTBURN thanks to my daily Prilocec! He's starting to make his way into my rib cage so breathing is more difficult but it's so worth it!
Cravings: nothing new...just love anything food
Aversions: none
Sleep: I think I'm doing pretty well right now. Pillows are settled & David still has room although he'd probably argue that statement. ;)

A lot of people have mentioned the heat to me. Yes...it's very hot but I'm managing. I have felt like a hermit crab the past few weeks but I think everyone is. David does a great job making sure I don't do too much outside. However....I still prefer a summer pregnancy rather than winter. :)

The 4th of July was fun although we missed David like crazy. He was working so we spent the day with Leslie & Tony. Lil' David's hearing is definetely working...I don't think he was very excited about the fireworks. Every "boom" was followed by a kick, punch, or flip visible from the outside. It was sweet though feeling him move...it really is the best feeling in the world!

So the next few months are going to be super busy! July will be filled by spending time with family and friends before school starts back (I refuse to even talk about that right now!). We have 3 showers scheduled all in August which we are super excited about. Our big upcoming project....Lil' David's ROOM! Painting will begin soon. We know that will make his upcoming arrival feel even more real!

So here we are at 26 weeks. I feel like these recent pictures all look the same but apparently he's growing up and down (like I said...into the rib cage!). He's measuring perfectly with a strong heartbeat still. I took my glucose test last Friday (YUCK!) and now I start going to the doctor every 2 weeks. I just have to say that I have the BEST husband in the universe! He's been to every appointment & so supportive and excited with me. And if he can't be there....he thinks through every way that he can make it possible. Lil' David is one lucky little boy to have a dad like him!

26 Weeks :)

Well...next time I post I'll be in my THIRD TRIMESTER! Can you believe it?!?

Love y'all & God Bless!

6 Months (24 weeks): Getting Closer!

So this past Friday, we hit the '6 months' mark! We were thinking "WOW! 6 months already?!?" Time has absolutely flown by and we are so excited to meet our little man in only 3 & 1/2 months.

24 weeks = 6 months!

Over the past 2 weeks....

Symptoms: heart burn (still) and itchy stomach
Cravings: milkshakes
Aversions: none
Sleep: Still uncomfortable but figuring out this pillow thing.

June 13th we went for our 22 week check up. He is growing perfectly and his heart rate is ranging from 149-151. I have to have my glucose test (yuck) done July 6th so hopefully that will go well. Then, we start going every 2 weeks. That will begin my THIRD TRIMESTER!

David felt him kick for the 1st time on June 16th. He was using his stethescope to try to hear Little David's heartbeat and he actually kicked right where he was listening. It was the coolest thing ever! I loved seeing the look on David's face. It was like Little David was saying "I'm here Daddy!" Lil' David has been moving around A LOT! We enjoy watching my stomach move and his kicks are getting stronger and stonger. He's not a performer though...as soon as anyone tries to feel him...he's as calm as can be!

Last week we went on vacation to Garden City Beach with the Mosteller side. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed spending time with everyone! David and I went to Build a Bear Workshop and stuffed Lil' David's 1st bear named Sullivan! We had so much fun and can't wait for Lil' David to get to hold him and love on him. I think he already enjoys the ocean. When we were down at the beach each day, he put on a show by moving my belly around non-stop. (Yes...I was wearing a 2 piece. A tan belly is much cuter then a pale one!) We also went to Wild Water (a waterpark) which was fun...however I didn't get to ride any slides of course. And knowing me....that wasn't easy being a spectator! But we had fun & well on our way to turning David Jr. into a water baby!

Fun in the SUN!
David riding the slides!

Lil' David's 1st Stuffed Animal named "Sullivan"

Today, David started a new rotation. He works for 24 hours, then is off for 2 days. Yes, he gets to sleep and yes we are very thankful for this new schedule. He will be home more now and it will be great to have him home like that when Lil' David comes! I grew up with my parents working this type of schedule for most of my life and it's great for making family time! David is excited...however, it will take a while for me to get used to him not being here at night. (Security sysytem = installed!) Plus, he's off Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years! Wahoo! (If you are familiar with this kind of schedule...that's a miracle!)

We will begin the nursery soon! Right now it's pink & green so it definetely needs A LOT of work! We have already registered and 2 showers are already scheduled! We will do a whole post on the nursery when it's done! The only thing I'm telling is the theme: SPORTS! Of course!

We cannot be more thankful for our wonderful family & friends. I get giddy inside when I think about how fast these next few months will fly by!  Like I promised....I'll be posting every 2 weeks!

Love y'all & God Bless! :)

14 weeks later: New Bump, Baby Boy & New House!

So can you tell I'm not used to this whole blog thing?!? Life just got a hold of us and here we are 14 weeks later with so many new things to talk about! I've never considered myself a writer so this is definetely a challenge for me.

So far, I have been blessed with a very easy, fun pregnancy!

Symptoms: heart burn & sore feet!
Cravings: Zaxbys, Deviled Eggs, and anything "salty"
Aversions: not that into sweets (which is a 180 turn for me!)
Sleep: Ugh! Never knew you could sleep with so many pillows at one time. David says he sleeps in a twin size bed now...even though it's really a king!

I only got "sick" from about 7 weeks to about 11 weeks. And the odd thing was...I only got sick on Monday mornings. Thanks to the awesome Layna Stafford, I was blessed to have the "closet" to use, instead of bending over the public school bathrooms! Yuck! My sweet husband was so great through those tired stages. All I wanted to do was sleep. But now my energy is back!

On May 16th, we found out that "the baby" is a BOY! His name is David Daniel Mosteller, Jr. It was like finding out we were pregnant all over again! We were both elated to know HE was healthy & moving around like crazy! They also got a really cool picture of his feet together. I also started feeling him move around 15 weeks. You all know I'm super ticklish so he knew exactly how to get my attention! Here are some of the pictures of our sweet little boy!

Already looks like his daddy according to me!

Can we say future athlete? Surprised anyone? :)

David Jr. is already being spoiled! David and I went to Babies R' Us to "browse" and came out with 2 adorable outfits. He already has his first Under Armour outfit...I mean who would have guessed that when David loves all things Under Armour! They are ready to match when he is big enough to fit into it. David wanted to get something that said "Mommy" on it so he also has a cute sleeper with guitars on it saying "Mommy's Rockstar"! On top of us spoiling him....family and friends are filling his closet too! We are do blessed to have such great family! He is already one loved little boy!

May 25th came as a double victory! I hit 20 weeks & we closed on our house! (We'll post about that later!) I happened to be wearing the same shirt I had on for my 10 week picture so you'll notice quite a difference. Not to mention, David Jr. & I have an awesome photographer...also known as my AMAZING husband & his Daddy!

  10 weeks!                                                 20 weeks!

So here we are in a new house & less than 20 weeks to go until he comes! School is out so now all I have to think about is being a wife & soon-to-be Mommy! We are still so thankful for him and we can't wait to meet him! The next job is the nursery & registering! I am here by promising that I will write at least once every 2 weeks (let's start slow). Although, I do promise a posting about our new house!

We love y'all & God Bless!

6 Weeks...here come the symptoms!

Here we are! 6 weeks already...can't believe how fast the past 2 weeks have gone! In the past week, I've noticed several things. I am ALWAYS tired and now I have to pee like every 45 minutes. Kind of annoying but worth every trip! Wednesday, I started getting heartburn...after I ate and randomly. Man, it burns. I guess the baby will have a head full of hair?!? Is that the old tale? Then Thursday, I had my first dizzy/lightheaded spell. Kinda scary and very uncomfortable, but again, totally worth it. Hopefully that one won't get much worse. Other than that, I'm feeling great! Oh and hungry all the time...David now just laughs when I say I'm hungry. Honestly...I am!

It's so amazing to read about what's going on in my belly. To know that God's design is happening inside ME is still so surreal. I pasted the link below to see what the baby looks like at 6 weeks.

Anyway, keep praying for a healthy little one! Lots of love!

We're having a baby!

It has now been a week since we found out that we are having a baby! God is so faithful! There have been so many emotions going through our head and it is very surreal!

If you know our story, you know we have been trying for a year and God has answered a really big prayer. It all started last Monday (well...not really but). We had gone to an ATV park in Winnsboro, SC with James & Beth and I still hadn't started. So after going to serve at the Palmetto House with our small group (amazing, but my mind was so pre-occupied of course) Monday night, I didn't wait a second longer to take the test. David was the one to look at the results and I just waited....and waited....which seemed like an enternity but was really just 4 minutes. Coming back into the living room he said "I think we're going to have a little one." very quietly while my head was burried in the couch. That was it...I just couldn't believe it. We were both in a complete state of shock! The next day we went to get a blood test which, of course, was positive!

So we have been able to tell everyone we want to at this point. It was a little stressful because we weren't able to tell my parents until Friday night! Darn 24 hour shifts.....but finally got to and they were ecstatic of course!

Today, I am 5 weeks and 4 days. Our first appointment is March 7th (I'll be 8 weeks) which seems like an eternity away. It will come fast though....because it has already been a week since finding out! Not big symptoms yet, crossing fingers. Pray with us for a healthy baby and if your reading this now, around Feb. 14th, there are very few who know, so please don't share this on Facebook. :) I'll give you the greenlight soon!

Thanks to my good friend Jess for giving me advice on a blog. I wanted to find a way to keep everyone updated where I could add pictures too!

We love y'all!
